Caleb and I had talked about marriage for months and I was getting so discouraged, wondering if it would ever happen. We knew we were going to get married but when would the time come? We'd looked at rings, looked at houses, read books on marriage and even talked about wedding dates, but still nothing! I was waiting to be asked!

One Saturday evening I got off work from Crosslights and Caleb picked me up to go to Kansas City. We've always enjoyed eating and walking around The Plaza. It seemed pretty normal to me. On the way down, it was like any other day, I was complaining about the fact that we still weren't engaged and I couldn't stand waiting any longer. Much to my surprise, he would ask me later that night.

We walked around The Plaza for a while and then he began to lead us somewhere we usually didn't go. We walked up onto a bridge and I could tell something was different about him. He started to do all the pre-proposal talk: you know I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, etc and then I began to get nervous. Stupid me I then asked what the buildings across the street were. He nicely answered and then continued. Caleb got on one knee, pulled out the box and asked if I'd marry him. I was so shockedI really thought the day would never come. I said, Are you serious? (what kind of response is that, how embarrassing!) So, he asked me again, Will you marry me? I obviously said yes, he put the ring on my finger and then people across the street began clapping and cheering!

I don't even remember the proposal. I was so scared...

She said yes.
